What are Shopify Editions?
Shopify releases two official platform updates each year, every six months, which are called Shopify Editions.
Each Edition contains the latest updates that enhance the platform.
These can include new features, platform improvements, additional tools, platform capabilities for merchants, developers and Partners, and more.
Shopify Winter Edition 2026
The Shopify Winter Edition 2026, also called “The Renaissance Edition”, marks a significant platform update.
This release is focused on AI automation, new sales optimization, scalability, useful tools for merchants and developers and mach more.
This version includes 150 product updates!
One of the key new features of Winter 2026 is Sidekick, the integrated AI assistant designed to support the merchant’s daily operations, for instance by suggesting proactive actions or automating tasks.
Another key innovation is the introduction of Agentic E-Commerce, which allows users to find and purchase products directly within the AI chat.
New tools have also been introduced for personalizing the online shop, as well as features like A/B testing and tools to better analyze data, sales, and channels.
There are also checkout and payments improvements and a greater flexibility in products.
